Still, it's nice to have since hotel provided water bottles are $5. The room did have a mini-fridge, but it was the smallest mini-fridge I have ever encountered with a capacity to fit maybe six 16-oz bottles of soda, water, etc. We usually prefer box springs and a higher mattress, but these beds were still comfortable. The room was well-appointed with nice but not opulent touches. There were no problems with sounds of the city or neighboring rooms. Our room was on the 28th floor facing south and was very quiet. They accommodated our early arrival and late departure and provided the level of service that one would expect of a hotel of this caliber. The hotel staff was friendly & courteous. subway station, Quality Meats, Quality Italian, etc.). entrance for access to Central Park and 59th & 5th Ave subway station and you can use 58th St. The hotel has entrances off of both 58th and 59th Street which comes in handy (e.g., you can use 59th St. It is literally next door to much more expensive hotels like The Plaza, Ritz-Carlton, and Essex House. Location and value were the two most important facets that drew us to select Park Lane for our stay. New York | 0.3km from city center I would recommend this hotel to anybody interested in visiting Manhattan and focused on staying in the vicinity of Central Park. (The elevators are staffed by operators, which is a lovely touch.) We are already planning our return. And at every turn, we encountered such friendliness from the staff that we couldn't help smiling. A daily newspaper was delivered to our door promptly every morning. Wi-Fi was all we could wish, with never a problem. (Molton Brown shampoo, conditioner and more? Yes, please!) Lovely bathrobes and slippers, too. The basket of grooming amenities was overflowing and included everything we could have wanted and then some. We were welcomed with candy, fresh flowers, and a mini-fridge well stocked with a generous assortment of complimentary sodas and mineral water, both sparkling and still. (I really appreciated having such a BIG bathtub, something you find all too seldom in city hotels now.) Cleanliness was perfect and the room was serviced twice daily.

The room was spacious, as was the bathroom. We stayed in one of the older interior rooms, but still enjoyed lots of daylight and a fine view. At every turn we were met with great service and felt truly welcomed. From the moment I reserved a room through checkout, the Sherry-Netherland experience was flawless. Now that I'm a New York visitor, I have stayed at many city hotels and had guest experiences that ranked from excellent to how-are-they-still-in-business? So you see, I have a very solid basis for saying that the Sherry-Netherland really does rank among the best-of-the-best and then some. New York | 0.11km from city center I was born and raised in New York and often passed by the Sherry-Netherland but never had occasion to stay there.
